Nair Hair Remover Microwaveable Body Wax Kit

So I tried this big bowl of wax 2 different times in the hopes that I'd like it. No dice. Once the tub is heated up, the wax is beyond messy. Lifting the stick up from the tub left strings of dried wax on the floor. I really like the concept that you don't need strips but when I peeled it back about 2 hairs came off. I followed directions and everything. Not to mention the pain. Holy cow does removing the wax hurt.

Hirsana Nutritional Supplement

I'm all about supplements. I take a number of extra vitamins and supplements beyond the multi-vitamin every day. Hirsana promises beautiful hair, skin and nails if you take 2 a day. Each capsule contains vitamins E, B6, Thiamine, Riboflavin, Pantothenic Acid, Biotin and Zinc. I've been using them for over a week and I must say just last night I thought my hair looked especially shiny. It could be just by chance. We'll see. I plan on taking these until they run out. I will give updates along the way but so far so good.

shu uemura Eyelash Curler

Not all eyelash curlers are created equal. shu uemera has proven that. I have tried eyelash curlers before, but hated that they made right angles out of them or pinched my eye. This lovely little eyelash curler actually curls the lashes without pinching anything. The pad is well cushioned, and the angle is perfect. Don't waste your money on a cheap imitation!

Luster 1 Hour White

Luster's 1 Hour White Tooth Whitening Light System was just what I needed before my wedding. A little pick me up to brighten my smile on the big day. It is easy to use, and you see results in less than one hour. I didn't even need to repeat the process more than 7 times to see the difference. Mouth rinse, gel, light - it is that easy! Definitely works better and faster than any of the whitening strips, toothpastes, and other products that I have tried. Thank you Luster for making my smile so bright!

Remington - Wet 2 Straight

Remington
Wet 2 Straight
1" Ceramic Plate Flat Iron

I have used this a couple of different times now, but I haven't tried going "wet 2 straight". I love making waves with this thin flat iron, and even tried making curls with it. Works great for a quick straightening of a few stray hairs. Heats up quick and the instructions are great for knowing which setting to put it on. I hope to try it on my hair when it is damp soon. Stay tuned!

Source Toothbrush

I had no idea that toothbrushes could be so luxe. Made of 93% recyclable material , this super soft toothbrush is too cool. The handle lasts forever and you just change the head. The brush is very soft and quite wide-which is great for reaching across more teeth. Best part? It's reversible for right or left handed brushing. Very clever, indeed.

Umberto Oval Brush

The best of both worlds: great brush, great price!
Target brings us a new haircare line from Umberto Savone of the Beverly Hills salon Umberto.
The Oval Brush is awesome!
The boar & nylon bristle combination is great for finishing up your look without removing a layer of scalp.

Hair Wars: The No!No! Strikes Back

So, I approached the new No! No! with a moderate amount of fear.

The first generation of the No! No! left me burnt & scarred (see all our reviews).

But after the pain involved when my Emjoi Chic Epilator went bad, a little burning suddenly did not seem so bad.

This one, however, does NOT burn!!!

There is still the burnt hair smell, but no actual burning of the skin. Big plus in my book!
It still requires patience, but there are visible results.
Less hair grows back!

It does not slow the growth of what does grow back, so I still sprout on a daily basis, but there is a good third less hair!

The next tester has a slower hair-growth cycle, so she will be a better person to try.

All in all, I like the less hair growing back & no burns! I do wish it took less time (patience is not a virtue I possess in any large amounts) and slowed re-growth.

Go to Samvilla.com and buy this brush!

Loving the comfortable handle, rounded-tip bristles, and that it gets through my hair without any major snags or injuries!

Firm, but not harsh. Sturdy, yet elegant.

Plus, looks fantastic-- no plastic mess.

Clarisonic--Mia

Topping my wish list:

The new mini Clairsonic MIA!

Little & totally portable/packable.

Would fit beautifully in my toiletry case...

Totally waterproof, so I could even use it in the shower.

Paul Mitchell® Pro Tools™-- Express Ion Dry® v.2

Okay, I am not much of a hair person. I rarely muss, mostly just comb when wet... I'm lazy, what can I say?

I have tried hair dryers--they take too long, my arms get tired, & my head gets too hot.

Going in with this, I did not have high hopes for the Express Ion Dry v. 2.
But then, HOLY WOW!!!
Lightweight, fast, and with a cold shot-- this dryer blew me away (pun intended).

My hair wasn't fried or frizzy, and I had no water dripping down my back.

I still am not a daily dryer (I'd have to wake up even earlier--not a pretty thought), but I recommend it to all the daily dryers!!! I use it when I am going out or doing something important.

I think I might be further converted by the EID v.2;)
It is the only hair dryer I have ever loved.

Crest Pro-Health Enamel Shield Toothpaste - Fresh Mint

This protects against your enamel wearing-off but also fights cavities, sensitivity, gingivitis, tarter and plaque. It also whitens and freshens breath. It's a good gritty paste with little scrubbing beads so you feel like they are really cleaning your teeth. Again, love the cap that makes it stand in my medicine cabinet.

Oral-B CrossAction ProHealth Tooth Brush

Just in time, I needed a new tooth brush and like I've mentioned before, I'm a teeth person. This brush is so sturdy and firm. The bristles are thick thus clean really well. This thing has gum massagers and power tip bristles. And it also has a great tongue cleaner. It mimics a dentist teeth cleaning like no other!

Paul Mitchell Express Ion Curl 1.0

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
1. Nice thick cord. Not flimsy at all.
2. Heats up in seconds. Literally seconds.
3. Love the barrel size
4. Adjustable heat setting by temperature. Not just a low, medium, high.
I'm in love.

Hair Wars: Chapter 4-- continuing saga

Emjoi Chic Epilator

So, a part on the inside went bonkers.

My legs looked like I was a cutter.

Unable to repair.

Argh.

Bobbi Brown: Bag & Brushes

Makeup bag & Mini Brush set
Okay, I always used to shy away from the Bobbi Brown counter, I thought the sales staff was over-enthusiastic, & that unnerved me.
Now I see that they were right-on. Dead-on. Spot-on. Perfect.
I think I am now a Bobbi-o-phile.
The bag is super-cute, a mini shaving bag, zips around 3 sides.
But the brushes are AMAZING!!!
There's a lip brush, an eye-shadow brush, & a foundation brush.
No random hairs left on you after using, just your make-up, right where you want it!
The handles are small, so you can easily carry them with you, but the brush parts are perfectly sized.
TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!

Philips Sonicare: Flexcare RS930 w/Sanitizer

My sister got me this as a gift.
For some reason, she thought I'd like the model with the Sanitizer...
Yes, I love the UV Sanitizer. It makes my toothbrush a far less germy place. What's not to love about that? It takes all of about 5 minutes & is quiet. Done & done-er.

The toothbrush: Clean, Sensitive, Massage, Go Clean, & Max Clean modes.
You can make it so that there's a bit of a pause every 30 seconds, at which point you should switch quadrants. There's an illustrated instruction manual.
It makes noise, don't be surprised by the sound, but the sound does not echo in your head. No, the echoing is from too-strong vibrations, not from hollowness.

It is fairly gentle, does not at all feel like I am using a jack-hammer to brush.
Holds a charge for a fairly long time.
I like that I can adjust the cycles.
My dentist will like that I am no longer eroding away my gums!

Trish McEvoy: The Point

So, I admit it-- I've never owned a "good" brush before.
If it didn't come as part of a bonus, I didn't have it
(sidenote: I now know that most of the bonus gift brushes are horrible).
I was good with spending the money on powder, lipstick, whatever--but could just as
easily apply it wiith a cotton ball, my fingers, or from the tube, right? WRONG!
One application later, I was searching through my stash to find out what else I could put
on with this little wonder brush! No odd hairs on my face, pigment where I wanted it to go...
The design allows precision placement, but also superior blending.
Sadness- limited edition. GET ONE NOW!

Oral B Advantage Floss Picks

Floss picks can be very harsh- hard plastic & cheap floss.
These are NOT like that!
The Oral B picks are a flexible plastic, so they won't snap in half.
The floss is good quality (Oral B), & doesn't shred all over.
I throw a couple in a plastic bag with my toothbrush when I travel.

Sephora Mini Travel Brush Set

I love Sephora.
I really do.
I have never been unsatisfied with any other purchase.
This one, however, sucked.
The set comes in a metallic-teal travel case, 5 brushes (one face, 4 eyes).
It would have been easier just to throw random brush hairs all over-- my face, the counter, the floor... I found a couple inside a pair of shoes, & not the ones I was wearing.
I have looked on the Sephora site & not found the set, so I am hoping they discontinued.
Has anyone else had any trouble with Sephora brushes???

Clarisonic Skin Care System

Okay, so I am very frugal. Thrifty. Cheap, even.
I believe that some things are worth an extra investment (lipstick), but many are fine when you spend less than $10 (sunscreen).
In this recession, can you think of a wiser way?
This said, the $195.00 price tag on the Clarisonic Skin Care System makes my stomach turn.
Knowing all this, believe me when I say it is WORTH it!
My skin has never been softer or happier!!!
And using the Clarisonic requires less cleanser than washing your face the old fashioned way-- you'll save on face wash and eliminate the expense of a separate exfoliator!
It even comes with 3 excellent cleansers:)
Plus, when you buy the PINK Clarisonic, the company will make a donation to the fight against breast cancer.
Save up your pennies for this one.

Luster Weekend Tooth Whitening System

Luster's 2-step system is easy enough: Rinse & paint on gel, twice a day for three days.
The rinse doesn't taste so great, but it did not make me gag--and you don't drink it, just swish for 10 seconds.
The gel is pretty standard, nothing weird there.

My teeth were noticeably whiter, and they did not have that gross, chalky look!
I kept thinking of that I Enjoy Being A Girl song from Flower Drum Song (When men say I'm cute and funny, And my teeth aren't teeth, but pearls...).

My one dislike is the whiteness scale they give you. It looks more like drops of foundation.

Get this for Pearly Whites! Dump the scale--you'll be too busy admiring your dazzling smile to check the chart anyway;)
